4 commentsThe Left makes me chuckle again
I hate taking material from the folks over at LeftinAlabama but this article just made me laugh. It ties in with my Biden post about the rich people should be more patriotic and pay more taxes. Here’s the quote that gave me a good laugh.
You want to know what’s unpatriotic? Weaseling out of paying your fair share, that’s what. Taking and taking and taking and when it comes time to put something back into the kitty, looking around and finding a buddy in the system who’ll get you a backdoor pass. That’s unpatriotic. That’s downright shameful. John McCain and his Republican Party and their corporate buddies and lobbyist enablers have been pulling that s*** for decades and turning around and calling themselves the patriots — and getting away with it.
Can anyone say Charlie Rangle? Oh say… the same Charlie Rangle who has gotten out of paying the right amount of his share of the taxes by omitting several portions of income such as a from 4 rental properties? And the buddy in the system? Nancy Pelosi who refuses to ask him to step down. Seems pretty buddy buddy backdoor pass to me.
I realize there are problems on both sides and I’m not going to tell you that Republicans are above these issues… but to only point out the opposite side is just misleading.
No commentsHarry Reid doesn’t know what to do
In this article from abc news… it appears that Harry Reid and his cronies have NO CLUE how to get a handle on the financial crisis.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, asked today what new regulatory actions Congress can take, said, bluntly, “No one knows what to do. We are in new territory here. This is a different game. We’re not here playing soccer, basketball or football, this is a new game and we’re going to have to figure out how to do it.”
Glad we have good experienced people in Washington who think that on the job training is an OK way to legislate. If you don’t know what you to do then you need to work some long over time to figure it out Reid. Meanwhile Americans are seeing bailout after bailout for reckless finical decisions made by large corporations who have reached the apex point at which they can’t fail… or else. My patience with the Bush administration is thin and my patience with Congress is lacking even more.
I may not know what to do either, but the fact of the matter is that my tax dollars are supposed to employ some of the “brightest minds” in Washington… so far I’m feeling shortchanged.
