Obama goes on the O’Reilly Factor

Say what you want about both O’Reilly and Obama, this interview went extremely well for both sides. I realize the left absolutely HATES O’Reilly, but even they have to admit that him “standing up” to this “hate-mongering faux news host” (to put it in their terms) is a good thing. It shows he isn’t afraid to stand against “the man” or “the right wing nut job establishment.”

A few things to note in the interview is that he admits FINALLY that the surge has worked beyond anyone’s wildest dreams… actually that’s incorrect, he should have said beyond any liberal’s wildest dreams. Like he has done previously he also mentions that Iran poses a dangerous threat and that rogue nation obtaining nuclear weapons is beyond acceptable. He reinforced his points of not taking diplomacy off the table which while I agree, we need to focus more heavily on peace through strength in the words of R.W. Reagan. Mostly he has restated his stances on his foreign policies which in my opinion have came across as still a little weak and slightly naive. But he is doing a better job of sprinting towards the center in order to grab those swing independent voters. My worries hope is that he will enrage the far extreme left with his open military options and flip-flop on the surge. And believe me… his surge opinion is a HUGE flip-flop when you turn the page back to July where he stated overall it had failed. While still acknowledging it helped reduce violence, he still stated it was a failure.

The best part about this interview is that both Obama and O’Reilly are completely professional and show that complex debate and policy disagreements can be handled in a civil manner.

Watch Barack Obama’s interview with Bill O’Reilly at 8 p.m. ET Thursday on FOX News Channel.

A Victory in the Judicial System

Yesterday, Circuit Judge Karen Hall sentenced Benito Albarran to death after being found guilty for the murder of Huntsville Police officer Daniel Golden in 2005. It is good to know that in the state of Alabama, there are still jurors and judges that believe the death penalty is justifiable. Unfortunately for other states you can’t say the same. And that is sad.
